EcoStoreUSA Review and Giveaway (CLOSED)

CONGRATULATIONS to JULIE (#45) for winning!

I'm not a typical granola cruncher (apologies, Vermont!-I kid, I kid) sporting the birkenstocks, wool socks and tye-dye.  No, no, no.

Not this chick.

Who am I?  I am a woman, who, in the past 3 years has increasingly become conscientious of my world around me. I think this awareness begins as you age (at least for me it did)-especially when you start having kids.  This is the world our children, our grand-children and great-grandchildren have to live in.  Yup.  The one and only. So, my thought is...why would you not want to take part in making it a clean and safer place?

So, if you're like me, you go to the store, check out the "green" cleaning alternatives, and purchase them.  But, even these "all natural" or "green" products, in the true sense of the word, aren't "green".  Since the "going green" trend hit in the last few years, companies have caught on to the popularity and now are trying to expand their product lines by including what people want-green products.   But, like I said, most are not truly green, and if you want to have legitimate toxic-free household, you have to check out the labels.  As parents we don't purposefully expose our children to these harmful ingredients, yet the reality is we do.  Bleach, Ajax, Comet, Floor cleaners..just a few examples of some of the most harmful solutions on the market. The Environmental Protection Agency found that pollution is 2-5 times higher inside the home than out, regardless of where the home is located.  That's some heavy stuff.  If the label suggests you should call Poison Control if ingested or has ambiguous ingredients listed called "trade secrets" that are not specified-take note.  It might be time for a serious switch up.

EcoStoreUSA contacted me to do a product review and giveaway, and I happily obliged-this review aligns with my ideals about keeping a safe, eco-friendly environment for myself and my family.

You can read about the background and the birth of EcoStore here.   Very interesting, and I was quite pleased the company had so much information on the website.  It really showed me they care about their roots and what their product stands for-not to mention the product itself.

Product Review

From the website, I choose two completely different products: the Lemon Cream Cleanser and the Baby Shampoo Aromatherapy.

Lemon Cream Cleanser :
Has a nice light fresh scent.  It didn't make my nose tingle (as most cleaners do), and worked just like soft scrub.  It took out the stains from my stainless steel sink as well as my bathtub.  Another thing I must note-I loved how super thick and concentrated this stuff is.  I barely had to use any at all (a few drops, really) and the job was done.
Baby Shampoo
Another product with a pleasant scent.  This was also citrus-y, and what really made me happy was that it didn't have any harsh ingredients like lauryl or laureth sulfates.  Hunter came into the bath with a head full of banana (he tends to wipe his hands through his hair every time he eats)-the result: Hunter's hair was left smelling super fresh and clean. Score.

Overall, these products are a bit pricier than store brands-but you're getting what you pay for.  Like I said: a little goes a long way, which will last three times as long as the stuff you buy in the store. Not to mention you're getting the peace of mind that it's made with all the good stuff.

I was very happy with the outcome of both of these products, and am so happy to have been able to test them out and share how they are not only truly environmentally friendly, but they are a really good product that gets the job done.  And well.
