When Hunter was a baby, I can remember how utterly fascinated with the ceiling fan he was. He would lay on his back under his baby gym and ignore all of the dangly toys only to stare at the fan. The fan moved continuously. The dangly toys? Not so much. They stopped moving after only a few seconds.
Babe and I installed a sweet little puppy dog mobile to the side of his crib, but only after a few months, we had to ditch it due to Hunter trying to reach up and snatch the little puppies. This obviously presented a safety issue, which was pretty annoying because I LOVED that set. That set that we barely used. Sniff sniff.
But when I found out about Fan Dangling, I was ecstatic. Mostly because the woman behind the invention is a mom. And of course because the product is ingenious.
I was surprised and delighted when I received my Fan Dangling in the mail. As soon as I pulled it out of it's cute little package, I knew exactly where I would test this out. I was given butterflies, so I went next door to my good friend/neighbor Melissa's house to set it all up. Melissa has a two year old little girl who Hunter plays with quite frequently, so I knew this would be perfect for their play dates.
Setup is a cinch (only took a few minutes, tops). The kit comes with a set of easy to follow instructions, which honestly, you probably don't need because it's that easy to set up ( a good thing, people-especially for this blockhead momma). Each of my butterflies came attached to a ribbon, and at the end of the ribbon is an industrial strength piece of Velcro. All I did was peel back one side, stick it on, and that was that. Easy-peasy. The kids absolutely loved them, too. As they were playing together, they would frequently stop in the middle of building blocks and chasing each other around to check out and point at the pretty butterflies "flying" above. That's a hit in my book!
I didn't see need for improvement on this product. The ribbon was sewn into the little plush butterflies, and they each were strong and durable. No loose ribbons, or ribbons that were about to fall apart. I definitely consider this item a quality product, and one that I would completely 100% recommend to others. In fact, I already have.
If you are a mom with a ceiling fan, you really should check these out. Although these make a great alternative to a crib mobile , they aren't just for babies. Kids love them too. Just ask my neighbors 10 year old who, upon walking in the play room "ooood" and "ahhhd". I want one for my room! Was what I kept hearing come out of her mouth. And they really are super cute, bright and cheerful. Choose from a selection of bugs, safari, puppies, and sea life, to name a few. And you're not stuck with just one theme. You can mix and match them to suit you or your child's taste. If you need an idea for a baby shower, birthday party, or you just want to spruce up your child's room- head over Fandangling.com to browse through all fun designs! Another neat aspect about this company is that they donate 10% of proceeds to charity. How can you not love that?
