Wordless Wednesday: Holy SNOW

It's really starting to look like a winter wonderland out there now that we actually have snow!  Right now I'm pretty excited , but ask me again the day after Christmas.

This is the front of our house.  Yes, it's old.  It was built in the late 1800's.  And yes, it can be VERY cold due to a crappy insulating and normal-old-house-stuff.  But we love it, and right now it's totally toasty and cozy due to our pellet stove.

Our backyard.  You can't see the mountains in this pic due to the snowy haze, but they're directly behind our house.  We live right on the cusp of the Adirondacks, which we love.  I am not a lover of the cold (I live in one of the coldest areas EVER, go figure!) but I have to say I really appreciate the beauty of this time of year, as well as the fun outdoor activities that we can participate in.

Like I said...ask me again if I like snow in two more weeks.

  1. That does look very cold and snowy - reminds me a bit of winters growing up in New York.

I am definitely not a lover of cold, either - our cold spell here in California isn't sitting well with me - but it is nice to see so many others' snow pictures this WW

  2. How cool to live in a house built in the 1800s. I grew up in a very old house that was built in the early 1900s and it was really cool. But it was drafty. Have a great holiday season!! organicmotherhoodwithcoolwhip.com

  4. Love the pics! We are in Cleveland and just got our first snowfall today. We've been spoiled until now :)

Our house was built in the early 1900s so I can relate with the old-house-lack-of-insulation thing!

    Great blog!
