Ask The Mamas: Does Your Child Do This Too?
Ok, this is slightly embarrassing, but this is the reality of parenthood, right?
At 19 months, my sweet little baby turned toddler has just recently discovered his down south region.
A few days ago, I walked into the living room to find him sitting on and grinding his sit 'n spin. Then yesterday when grandma and grandpa were visiting, he grabbed his blankly, sat down on the floor, and began grinding it between his legs. Of course we all laughed and giggled. It's cute and funny, and when he saw us laughing, he started cracking up too. BUT...
My question to you is this:
Has this ever happened with your child? Is this a typical baby/toddler occurance, or is my child destined to be the next Dirk Diggler? Should I be concerned?
He's so little that he obviously doesn't understand what he's doing, only that it feels good. But what do I do about it? Should I just let him hump away or stop it? How long does this go on for?
Yes..I am completely serious.

Totally normal.
ReplyDeleteThat said, are you sure he doesn't have a rash or something that is causing him to do it?
Nicki,
ReplyDeleteWell that's good to know! Nope, no rash either.
I don't have boys, but have heard and read that it is totally normal!
ReplyDeleteand funny!
So normal. My oldest does this. When she got older and asked about it, I told her it was fine to do but that it was a private event, for her, in her room. Didn't want to have to make red-cheeked explanations to play-date's parents...
ReplyDeleteI did not know this could happen! I'm glad to know this ahead of time for when (most likely) it does happen. I bet you this is where Freud got his start!
