Celtic Woman: Songs From the Heart New Music Review & Giveaway (Ends 3/5-CLOSED)

UPDATE: Congratulations hotsnotty2!

A few years ago, I remember flipping on the TV to channel surf only to find a group of five pretty  women dressed in beautiful gowns, singing, dancing and playing violins on stage to Irish classics.  I was awestruck.  They were so good! I tuned in towards the end of the televised concert, so when it ended, I switched the channel to something else, not catching who they were.  I forgot about it, until a few weeks ago when I had the opportunity to re-aquaint myself with these interesting Irish singers.  Thanks to Music Moms, I was able to review the just released Celtic Woman: Songs From The Heart CD.

As soon as the first song started playing, i knew it was the group I had seen on TV.  Those voices are so beautiful! Unlike anything else. Don't believe me?  Go here to take a listen.

Celtic Women features vocalists Lisa Kelly, Chloe Agnew, Lynn Hilary, and Alex Sharpe, with violinist Mairead Nesbitt.  Right now they are touring the United States, so you can get a chance to see them live!  Check here for upcoming tour dates.  These ladies have been pretty busy; Celtic Woman have sold more than 3.8 million records in the U.S. alone, and have had 7 sold out US tours.  It's not hard to see why, since they are that good.

It struck an emotional chord listening to them sing.  They did covers of songs such as Billy Joel's "Goodnight My Angel", Sting's "Field of Gold", and Mariah Carey's "When You Believe", which is a personal favorite of mine.

My mommy rating: ***** (or five stars)  for Celtic Woman!

Say no to fake Ugg boots

Ok, so obviously I didn't make it to the library yesterday, and I was honestly a little bummed.  I'm getting crazy cabin fever and although I love hanging out with the fam,  yesterday was no exception.  Hunter and I were shopping and because of a few pre-terrible two fits, we ended up making a would-be 1 hour shopping trip into 3 hours.

Oh, and my boots suck.  You know those fake Uggs?  Yes, I actually bought a pair last year.  I really don't know what I was thinking.  They are NOTHING like Uggs.  More like slippers, really.  And I wear them as boots.  In three feet of snow. I'm so smart.

So, like I said, Hunter and I were shopping.  We had left the grocery store and while loading the groceries into the backseat, I bit it on a slab of black ice while wearing the fake Uggs with negative traction and fell right on my arse in front of the guys who round up the grocery carts.  You know those guys. They have the WORST job in the entire world-especially when it's below 0 and people just don't feel like walking a few extra steps to put the carts back. I really commend those grocery cart-gather-uppers.   Anyway,  boy, did they have a nice show.  Hunter was screaming with frustration and exhaustion in his car seat while I'm lying flat on my back.  After a few giggles, one of the guys came over to give me hand.  I can't blame them.  I would be laughing at me too.

So now, I will be shopping for new boots.  Real boots.  Any suggestions?

and last but not least:
congratulations to Amy for winning a Fan Dangling!
